I still can’t believe it’s 2008 already. That means I will be 38 years old very shortly–much older than I ever imagined I would be. It also means that this June marks 20 years since I graduated high school. *Groan*.
Here are some of my New Year’s resolutions, in no particular order (the same ones I make every year, yet I find myself renewing them at the start of the following year… only this is the year that I will follow through on them):
- Continue my efforts to be sweeter to my wife in an attempt to rekindle some of the romance between us that has been lost amidst the chaos of both of us juggling careers, school, children, bills, and the myriad of other obligations. We both need to stop taking each other so much for granted and show each other more appreciation, and this is my effort towards that.
- Be more loving to my friends and family. It’s easy to take them for granted, too, and my plan is to remedy that.
- Get published. (Though I readily admit that I have the least amount of control over this one.) I have one novel that is in yet another stage of proofing/editing, and another that’s about halfway completed. I also plan to start submitting more short stories and entering them into contests.
- Finish the half-completed novel mentioned above.
- Get an “A” in my first class of my masters degree program.
- Be more patient and tolerant.
- Spend my time more productively.
- Eat a little healthier–though not obsessively.
- Take the stairs more than the elevator.
- Post here more regularly.
That’s it. Wish me luck…
